Electromyography (EMG)

Diagnostic Through Electromyography

Weakness in the limbs, loss of sensitivity, or even paralysis of a limb (in some cases after an accident), an EMG test may be requested by the doctor.

It allows the study of the peripheral nervous system of muscles and neuromuscular junctions. Just like the Echodoppler, it is a non-traumatic and painless examination, in the worst case scenario, it is a little bit unpleasant during the injection of implants into the muscle by the examiner.

With EMG, you are provided with a plot of the electrical activity that is associated with the muscle, whether it is at rest, during activity or during galvanic stimulations as part of a neurological examination.

The plot obtained, known as the EMG or Electromyogram, reveals the location of the injury responsible for your complaints..

It  is therefore an injury at the level of the myelin axon or the neuromuscular junction (Myasthenia gravis)
